Seminar Beijing - Doing Business with Gambia, Ghana and Belgium (17/11)

Belgium is at the center and heart of Europe. Therefore ‘Doing Business in Belgium is Doing Business in Europe” .
Belgium is known as the European distribution and logistics hub, a position it owns due to its excellent connectivity with overseas destinations and the European hinterland and its strategic location close to the principal European production and consumption centers.
This interconnectivity instigates Belgium to become a major strategic partner in the development of the “One Belt One Road” development strategy launched by China at the end of 2013.
It aims to create a “New Silk Road” linking Europe and the Middle East with the economic centers of China and other countries in South-East Asia and around the Indian Ocean (EURASIA) and an ocean-going part with Belgium as a major trading and logistic hub to and from Africa.
Targeting on Belgium and two countries in Africa, aims to create awareness amongst the Chinese enterprises to explore the business and investment opportunities in the subject countries while benefitting of the interconnectivity of the European and the African market and the development of Africa into a new single trading market as the European union.
According to the BBC, the new "SeneGambia bridge" will revolutionize trade between The Gambia and the West-African region: "A new bridge spanning the River Gambia is set to revolutionize travel and trade in the region."
According to the New York Times, Ghana is currently one of the fastest growing economies in Africa;
“Ghana is on track to make a remarkable claim for a country mired in poverty not long ago: It is likely to have one of the world's fastest-growing economies this year, according to the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Brookings Institution. Its projected growth in 2018, between 8.3 and 8.9 percent, might be outpace India, with its booming tech sector, and Ethiopia "
