比利时位于欧洲的中心。因此，“在比利时经商就等同于与整个欧洲做生意”。   比利时，尤其是安特卫普，是世界闻名的欧洲经销中心。凭借地域上优势，它与海外各国和欧洲腹地起着良好的连接作用，作为战略性的地理位置，它接近欧洲主要生产和消费中心。   这种互联互通使比利时/安特卫普成为中国2013年底提出的“一带一路”发展战略中的主要战略合作伙伴。   一带一路的战略政策旨在创建一条“新丝绸之路”，把欧洲和中东与中国的经济中心连通起来，并通达至环绕印度洋(欧亚大陆)的各个东南亚国家，比利时/安特卫普作为进出非洲的主要贸易和物流枢纽地起到了至关重要的作用。
