Why invest in Peru ?

• Peru is one of the best countries to do business in in Latin America. It is ranked as the 35th economy worldwide in the “Ease of Doing Business Ranking” in 2015, being the second in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Peru is an important producer of several commodities, but recently also manufacturing and construction have increased their share in the Peruvian economy.
• Peru is a member of the main economic blocs of the region (Andean Community, Pacific Alliance, Unasur, APEC) and has more than 20 FTAs in force. It has also negotiated the PPT.

Some particularities of the Peruvian legal system you should know

The legal system in Peru is characterized by strongly protecting and facilitating foreign investment. The basis is the principle of “national treatment” of foreign investment. The legal system has also other mechanisms to protect investors, including: absence of license requirements, free transfer of capital, free competition, free access to credit, and access to international mechanisms for the resolution of disputes.
