Seminar - Doing Business with South-Africa (19/09) | Patricia Leers, Marisa Scheepers A-LAW International Law Firm

Seminar - Doing Business with South-Africa (19/09)

event

The newly inaugurated South-African President Cyril Ramaphosa vowed to bring about "a new era” to  the economy and people of South-Africa.

Where the Zuma Years were marked by a sustained slump in FDI (foreign direct investment), South Africa is seeing a significant turnaround in foreign direct investment (FDI) with 2018 having the highest FDI numbers achieved in the last five years.

These signs of green shoots in South Africa’s economy, the second economy of Africa after Nigeria, are a major driver for organizing a seminar on “Doing Business with South-Africa” in our offices in Antwerp on 19th of September 2019 under the motto of “a new era for South-Africa, new opportunities for trade and investment”.

The seminar will take place in the presence of the Ambassador of South-Africa.

With the South African government’s economic stimulus plan to inject billions into infrastructure development, Soudal will share their experience in the (re-emerging) construction industry.

The "Legal and Institutional Framework" to consider while trading or investing shall be elaborated upon by our in-house South African lawyer, followed by an overview of “ the opportunities within the economic fabric of South-Africa”.

As investing and trading with a country demand risk analyses and financing Credendo will share their insights and forecasts of the country.

Overview speakers:

- Koen Wuyts, Regional Director Middle East & Africa, Soudal

- Patricia Leers, Managing Partner A-Law, head of the international department

- Marisa Scheepers, Lawyer South-Africa, A-Law
